The Milo Foundation Sanctuary

Welcome to the Milo Foundation Sanctuary! Our 283 acre Sanctuary is home to more than 200 animals at any given time. It provides a temporary home to those adoptable animals that have not yet found their forever home and permanent sanctuary for those animals that, for whatever reason, haven't been adopted.

The sanctuary is located in Northern California in Mendocino County, just outside the town of Willits. The sanctuary is just one part of the work of the Milo Foundation, which was founded in 1994 and is an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Milo Foundation strives to rescue as many animals as possible from high kill shelters and abuse/neglect cases throughout California. Since inception, the Milo Foundation has rescued over 12,500 animals from high kill shelters and other at-risk situations. The majority of these animals have been adopted into loving homes.

At the Milo Foundation we educate the public on numerous issues, including the benefits of adoption over buying from breeders or pet stores, the importance of spay/neutering of pets, and the lifelong commitment of being an animal guardian. All of our rescued animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested, and micro chipped, before being placed in their new homes.
