There are a number of ways to volunteer for the Milo Foundation Sanctuary: volunteer workcamps, internships, program for vet and vet tech professionals and students, school/youth programs, and virtual volunteering.

  • youth programs
  • Milo hosts volunteer workcamps, which involves improving the sanctuary infrastructure. Past projects include assembling insulated dog houses, cat house renovations, painting, jump proofing pens, building dog runs, and much, much more. Part of the weekend is also spent socializing the animals: playing with the cats, walking dogs, playing fetch with the dogs, and passing out treats and toys to the animals. Volunteers may camp on the grounds of the Milo Sanctuary or stay in a hotel in the nearby town of Willits (10 miles away). Volunteers must sign up in advance for these weekends, as limited space is available. The workcamps are postponed until further notice..
